A rose and a skunk

At a funeral I recently went to the Pastor gave a quick analogy of what pressure does to a person. He said that if you were to take a rose and apply pressure to it….it would have the beautiful smell of a rose. On the other hand…if you were to take a skunk and apply that same pressure to it…you would not get the smell of a rose but rather the smell of a skunk. The pressure has nothing to do with what the smell will be….the pressure only reveals the true character of the item, person. When pressure is applied to me….I want the essence of Christ to be what people “smell.”

Oh, I am still such a long, long ways from that!!!!!!!!!
